Telling the Story Right – Children vs Adults in Auslan (morning)

Let’s explore how to tell one story… two very different ways.

About the event

This eye-opening workshop will show you how one story can change completely — depending on who you're signing it to.

You’ll explore the art of adjusting your Auslan storytelling style to match your audience, whether it’s playful and bold for children, or natural and expressive for adults.

We’ll guide you through real examples, breaking down how tone, facial expression, role shift, pace, and space shift between age groups. It’s more than just “how to sign” — it’s about understanding your audience and telling the story right.

Whether you're a parent, teacher, interpreter, Auslan learner, or storyteller — this Deaf-led workshop will give you new insights and confidence.

Bring your eyes, your hands, and your curiosity. Let’s explore how to tell one story… two very different ways.
