Discover the power of Non-Manual Features (NMFs) — the facial expressions, head movements, and visual cues that give Auslan its depth and meaning! This workshop is your chance to explore NMFs in action, learning how they shape grammar, show emotion, add emphasis, and completely change the meaning of a sign.
This will include a practical activity.
You’ll see NMFs used in a variety of contexts, practise them yourself, and gain the skills to make your signing clear, natural, and expressive. I’ll share practical tips to help you confidently use NMFs in everyday conversation, professional settings, and storytelling.
Whether you’re a parent, teacher, interpreter, or Auslan learner, this Deaf-led workshop will give you the tools to take your Auslan communication to the next level.
