Learn practical Auslan signs that can be used when discussing mental health, emotional wellbeing, and support.
This Deaf-led workshop is designed to help participants build confidence communicating about mental health in everyday conversations, support settings, schools, workplaces, and community environments.
Participants will learn signs related to:
• anxiety and panic attacks
• stress and overwhelm
• counselling and therapy
• burnout and fatigue
• coping strategies
• emotional regulation
• support networks
• mental health conversations
Accessibility & Format
To support accessibility and clear communication, this workshop is delivered in a structured format:
• First 10 minutes: Auslan interpreter supported the introduction
• Next 40 minutes: Voice-off, Deaf-led immersive Auslan learning experience
• Final 10 minutes: Auslan breakout activity, Q&A and wrap-up
