Learn practical Auslan signs that can be used during emergencies, safety situations, and high-stress moments where communication matters most.
This Deaf-led workshop is designed to help participants build confidence using clear visual communication in real-life situations — whether at home, in schools, workplaces, community settings, or everyday life.
Participants will learn signs related to:
emergency situations
pain and injury
asking for help
medical needs
danger and safety
calming and reassurance
important instructions and responses
Accessibility & Format
To support accessibility and clear communication, this workshop is delivered in a structured format:
First 10 minutes: Auslan interpreter supported the introduction
Next 40 minutes: Voice-off, Deaf-led immersive Auslan learning experience
Final 10 minutes: Auslan interpreter supported Q&A and wrap-up
